2 MW Solar PV Power Plant

2 MW Solar PV Power Plant – A Unique R&D Test Track Unit

SoftBank Group Corp is a Japanese multinational holding conglomerate headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and was ranked in the Forbes Global 2000 list as the 38th largest public company in the world. SoftBank operates in the eco-power industry through its SB Energy subsidiary in many countries, including India.

We have been working closely with SB Energy to develop R&D project which is aimed to test various technologies and combinations for cost optimization vs performance of the plant in the ground-mounted PV segment. This is a unique ground-mounted PV project of 2 MWp, located in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, encompassing various latest technologies, makes and design combinations.

In this project, we have used Polycrystalline Bifacial modules of various makes, to enhance the DC output per unit area and reduce losses. The string capacity in some strings is kept at 1000 V and some at 1500 V. We have also used string as well as central inverters of various makes. Fixed tilt, single axis trackers and double axis trackers, sliding type as well as CPV type of mounting structures are used.

24 different combinations have been developed and executed using the above technologies and makes in this unique plant. The plant uses both manual and robotic cleaning system and has also installed advanced weather monitoring systems and SCADA to get an in-depth data of the plant for analysis.

This state-of-the-art plant is built with the most advanced technology using the best quality equipment delivered through rigorous quality checks.
